Since the people who did this are probably too fucking stupid to comprehend more than three sentences, let me present you with a tl;dr

• You’re sending someone anonymous death threats
• You’ve harassed, no, assaulted someone in real life
• This person is now too scared to leave her house because of you assholes.
• Just because she doesn’t like homestuck.

And I am disgusted in each and every one of you for letting this ever be a thing

This is your fault as an entire fandom and you do not fucking deserve to call it anything positive

don’t get me wrong i think what’s happened is absolutely terrible, i hope whoever did this to this girl gets caught and punished hard, but

why are you blaming the whole fandom

even the girl who this happened to didn’t blame it on the whole fandom (and tbh i would be slightly irked but not super mad like i am now if she did)

of course it’s not okay, and 99% of the homestuck fandom will agree with you on that

this is not our fault as a fandom, it’s not like every last member of the fandom knew this was going to happen or could have stopped it

like, i live in massachusetts, usa, and i don’t know any of the people involved in this because i don’t know any homestucks in australia, how the fuck is this my fault, because that’s exactly what you’re implying

but there are people in this fandom who are fighting actively to get these people punished, including people who were in country, con, and group this happened within, so how the fuck are you blaming it on them?

and positive things happen within the fandom, don’t even try to say they don’t (have you even seen all the stories where people have made best friends or been saved from suicide because of the homestuck fandom), and don’t turn one (absoloutely abhorrent, i won’t deny that it was at all) incident done by probably no more than ten people in a fandom of probably millions into the entire fandom’s legacy

doing these terrible things isn’t even a homestuck fandom thing and idgi why people treat it like it is

people do these things because they are terrible people and may even have some sort of mental disorder fueling it (i wouldn’t be surprised), they just happen to be homestucks as well, but they would be doing the same kind of thing if they were hetalians or bronies or whovians or wicked fans or hipsters who only read incredibly obscure self-published novellas

like, wow, i’m really sorry that i’m turning this post away from the victim here because i really do feel so bad for her and i am so mad at whoever did that to her and if there was anything i could do beyond reblogs and signal boosts to get the people who assaulted her caught, i absolutely would, and if i could meet these people i would probably punch them in the face

but i would probably do the same thing to you because tbh you’re being a huge bitch about this
